Job Description

Health & Safety Business Partner 
Location - Covering South Region (ideally based around the Reading Region, this will include travel to sites within the London) 

We are currently recruiting for a Safety Business Partner within our Plumbing and Heating Division.

The Safety Business Partner will support regional and local leaders in the ownership, leadership and delivery of their Stay Safe strategies as part of their business plans to improve safety, health and well-being across the division. Developing a clear understanding of the safety issues for workplaces and be continually developing local leadership’s skills, knowledge and understanding. Influence to support change and to build and maintain a consistent safety culture across the division.

Working with Head of Safety to develop the safety strategy and annual delivery plan, guiding and coaching regional directors and operational managers in all aspects of safety leadership, performance and business operations including incident investigation, risk management, managing preventative and corrective actions and employee engagement.

Your key accountabilities will include:

- Working with the Head of Safety to develop the divisional Stay Safe strategy and associated annual delivery plan.

- Guide and coach Directors and Managers in all aspect of safety leadership and performance, including:
Integration of safety into business operations
Leadership behaviours
Incident Investigation
Risk Management

- Managing preventative and corrective actions
- Deliver a variety of Stay Safe related training in accordance with the divisional delivery plan.
- Deliver Stay Safe Audits of branches along with appropriate post audit support and coaching.
- Use a variety of performance measures to identify trends and improve safety, health and well being performance, sharing best practice and celebrating success across the division.
Act as a visible leader for the principles of Stay Safe. Through personal leadership style set the right tone at the top and establish an open culture, encouraging a high level of communication and colleague participation both internally and externally on Stay Safe issues.

It would be great if you had…

- Higher level safety qualification Degree or MSc (ideal not a must)
- Hold a NEBOSH Certificate or CMIOSH or equivalent
- Previous experience in a Safety Role 
- Time Management: Ability to work effectively independently
- Able to present confidently to Branch Managers and Regional Directors
- IT skills (word, excel, powerpoint etc) 
- Legal & Technical understanding of Health & Safety 
- Experience of working within distribution and branch networks
- Ability to influence at branch level
- Be Engaging  and passionate
