Finance Analyst - Stock & Transport

Location - Crick

Division - Plumbing & Heating

Grade - C6


An excellent opportunity has become available to join the Plumbing & Heating division as a Finance Analyst - Stock & Transport. The role will be based predominantly at the Plumbing & Heating Head Office in Crick. It’s an exciting time to be joining the division as we embark on a transformation journey to create a stronger, efficient and more profitable business.


As part of this role, you will provide analytical support to the P&H Supply Chain management team enabling the best financial and commercial decisions to be made in order to deliver growth and maintain financial control.


Operating in a fast paced, dynamic environment, the role will provide reporting and insight to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.  The candidate will be required to deliver insightful, accurate, consistent reporting and analysis that enables strong business performance.


Alongside the above you will also be responsible for:


  • Understand the key performance metrics supporting the operational delivery of Secondary Transport within the branch network and Product Supply across the division (stock management).


  • Create and produce effective performance KPIs (feeding daily, weekly and monthly performance schedules) that provide the core financial statistics to the division


  • Support both financial and non-financial operating teams to understand key performance metrics and proposed recommendations.


  • Play a supporting role in finance led planning activities, which include; delivery of the Strategic Plan, annual budget and forecasting cycles.  Working closely with the Finance business partners to help deliver a robust planning cycle.


  • Attend weekly and monthly review meetings, presenting financial performance to the key stakeholders


  • Manage investment appraisal business cases that relate to Secondary Transport and Product Supply – modelling the impact on financial return and working capital


  • Continuously challenge current processes and recommend improvements to all aspects of reporting and analysis. Strive to improve processes and reduce time on data production so analysis becomes the key focus.


  • Plan and manage ad-hoc projects to improve reporting processes or investigate reasons behind performance variances.


  • Be an active member of both the Supply Chain & Finance teams who seeks out new opportunities within the remit of their current role and has a willingness to work across all areas of the team to assist others.



What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally be studying towards an accountancy qualification and have demonstrated progression in your career to date. You will have advanced excel skills alongside proven experience of data manipulation. You’ll have excellent communication skills, and be able to explain complex financial processes to non-financial stakeholders.
