Finance Administrator - Management Accounts x 2 Positions

We at Travis Perkins - Plumbing & Heating division are looking to recruit a Finance Administrator to join the P&H Management Accounts team based in Northampton.

Joining us as a Finance Administrator within the Management Accounts Team, means joining a team of dedicated financial colleagues; where we value innovative thoughts and a collaborative desire to continue with our business success. As our new Finance Administrator, you’ll actively support the maintenance of cost accounts and cost centre hierarchies in the relevant accounting and reporting systems as
well as have ownership and accountability for reflecting allocation of centralised recharges down to branch level. You’ll also be responsible for carrying out control account reconciliations and post accounting entries under a defined set of parameters and rules.
In addition to the above, you’ll also be responsible for:
Ensuring integrity of various accounting and reporting systems including reconciliation work to ensure that hierarchies are consistently maintained.
Investigating of missing cost accounts and cost centres and ensuring that these are added to the appropriate place within the business hierarchy
Ensuring non reported cost accounts are maintained at a nil balance and balances are distributed accordingly
Rolling of ledgers and checks to ensure that opening balances in one period reconcile to closing balances from the previous period
Post journals to allocate third party spend to branches on centralised invoices for a variety of services based on information received from relevant external suppliers providing the service
Reconciling control accounts for centrally invoiced expenditure to ensure that all charges are allocated to the p&l
Maintenance of intercompany matrix ensuring that all cross charges between various business units are fully reconciled
Review and post recurring journals
Posting of payroll journals to reflect employee related costs into the accounts
Generation and publication of system generated management accounts
Query resolution in respect of amounts posted to the general ledger for the above processes
What we are looking for:
Ideally you will be working towards your AAT qualification
Great communicator and hold excellent Customer Service and Telephone relationships
Understanding of Cash and banking processes and accounting principles
Excel skills (Intermediate level ) would be essential
Word and Data entry skills
Hold strong attention to detail skills
Numerate with analytical approach to tasks
Personable and Great communicator
High attention to details with analytical approach to tasks
Team player, with desire to develop
